Canvassing (Walking door-to-door for a candidate or issue. Using a script to speak with voters about the specific issue or candidate and asking for support or information from the voter.)

Communications/marketing (Helping to develop memes/messaging for Facebook page and mailers)

Event planning (Helping to plan and put on the John Mitchell Annual Fundraising Dinner as-well-as develop and plan outreach events)

Parades (Helping to put-up and take down float. March or ride the float and distribute candy or information along parade route. We are hoping to have two groups.)

Phone banking (Calling voters using a script to speak with them about specific issues or candidate(s) and asking for support or information from the voter. Use of phone banking software to obtain voter information and phone number to call.)

Poll watcher (Sit at the poles to ensure that proper procedures are being used to ensure a safe and fair election. Tracking who has voted so we know who to call to give gentle reminders to about voting. Work from poll opening at 6am to approximately 4pm and then helping to make reminder phone calls.)

Election Judge (Ensure safe and fair elections by being on the team that runs the polling place. Work for the County Clerk’s office on election day or when helping with early voting. Training provided by the County Clerk’s office. Election day hours likely to be from 5am until 8pm.)

Precinct organizing (Talk to voters in the assigned precinct to gather information about voter preference, distribute information, distribute yard signs)

Write elected officials (Write letters/emails to elected officials about specific topics of interest to the group.)

Write letters to the editor (Write letters/emails to local newspapers about specific topics of interest to the group.)

Staffing (be present in office during office hours to answer questions, take information and distribute yard signs/literature. Help staff booths at local festivals and/or County Fair.)

Office maintenance (Help with cleaning the office on a regular basis – dusting/vacuuming/wiping down tables)
